Prince William County Virginia Tech Alumni Association Golf Tournament
The Prince William County Virginia Tech Alumni Association Golf Tournament is held each spring to raise money for the chapter's scholarship fund. The event started in 2008 and will be an annual event for Hokies to look forward to each year. Over $66,000 was raised the first seven years, and the chapter looks to add to its scholarship fund in 2015. The chapter receives about 50 scholarship applications each year, and has awarded over 40 scholarships since 2008. Scholarships are awarded based on community service involvement. Reviewing the applications makes us proud that such excellent students will attend Virginia Tech and live the University's motto, UT Prosim, That I May Serve. Prince William County Virginia Tech Alumni Association
We are the Prince William Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, proudly serving the communities of Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. The PW Hokies’ primary goals are to encourage scholarship of our community’s youth and volunteerism of the entire community. In the chapter’s first three years of existence, twelve scholarships have been awarded to Tech-bound graduating seniors from high schools in the chapter’s coverage area. The chapter encourages community service through its support of the Virginia Tech VT-Engage program; the Prince William Habitat for Humanity; and INOVA through an annual blood drive. To ensure a balanced program, we also sponsor intellectual, social, and sports activities of broad interest to the community.
